What is
Combined Fermentation System (CFS)

  • CFS is not a device, but rather the name of a water treatment system that uses microorganisms to purify water. Japan has long used microbial fermentation technology in a variety of fields.
  • CFS is a systematization of this fermentation technology that has been uniquely enhanced to purify almost all types of waste water, whether residential sewage, chemical waste, factory excess sludge, salt water, or polluted ponds, CFS treatment technology is highly scalable and can purify most wastewater using the same treatment method.
  • It is a Japanese advanced technology that does not use chemicals and does not result in sludge deposits, and treats various forms of contaminated water and turns it into clean water. The major advantage of this technology is that it does not use any chemicals and relies solely on two types of bacteria that analyzes contaminated water (through the process of compound fermentation).
  • In the usual purification method in the field of water treatment, a chemical coagulation coefficient is used during treatment and a huge amount of slurry is left in the sedimentation tank and significant expense is required to treat it.
  • CFS does not generate any sludge and therefore processing costs are saved.  It also analyzes and disassembles odor-causing ammonia.
  • Two thousand years ago, Japan has benefited greatly from bacteria and their uses in everyday life.
  •   It is used in Sake (Japanese rice wine), Miso soup (soup made from soybean), soy sauce, Japanese pickles, Koji (fermentation prefix used for making Japanese wine and soy sauce), Natto (fermented soybean) and others.
  •   This technology is a modern technology that processes water contaminated using the technique of bacteria that reached Japan and penetrated into the lives of Japanese since ancient times. The bacterial diet here is the contaminated water (wastewater).
  • CFS does not use chemicals or coagulation coefficients and therefore the cost of water treatment is greatly reduced.
  • The Osaka Health Care Center, known as the most strict in Japan, conducts a monthly survey to confirm the removal of BOD (99.6%) and COD (99.6%) and ensure that the pH is equal to the pH of pure water.
  • Bacteria processes all the waste water and produces fresh water.
